Hello Dorian, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hello everyone,
My name is Dorian, I am 26 years old and I am a professional Padel player.
I am the 25th French player and the 260th world player. I live in Bordeaux and I train at Big Padel in Mérignac with my coach Jean-Thomas Peyrou.
Can you explain to us what led you to play padel?
I was lucky enough to be able to play tennis for 10 years at a good amateur level (3/6) and it was in 2017 that I made the transition to Padel. At the time, I was a mathematics student and to finance my studies, I worked part-time at Decathlon. A Padel club was set up right next door and out of simple curiosity, I tried it with a friend.
The sport was nascent in France at the time but already well established in Spain (number 2 sport after football).
I was immediately taken with it and never left it.
At first, I did it very intensively but in parallel with my studies. In 2021, I obtained my master's degree and decided to become 100% professional afterward. I had then managed to achieve my goal of being the 10th French player, so I chose to try an adventure on the world circuit.
What is your best sporting memory?
There are many. I don't necessarily connect "best memory" with "result" but rather with the emotions I experienced. However, I would still say that my first (and only to date) victory on the international circuit remains my best memory because I had just returned from a major hip operation due to a genetic pathology that had kept me off the field for 6 months.
It was in Doha, Qatar in 2023 in the first category of professional Padel tournaments, a FIP Promotion.
What qualities do you need to be a good padel player?
Padel is, in my opinion, a sport that is very inclusive. You don't just have to be 1.90m tall to have the chance to reach a good level.
Sharing the track with a partner means that each can bring a quality that one or the other sometimes lacks.
This is why it is not uncommon to see a small player who defends well with a tall player who hits hard. It is on the complementarity of the team that the level of play is measured.
In my case, the qualities I had in tennis (maneuverability in the short game) were perfectly translated into padel, which is more important there.
More generally, I would say that having a strong interest in racket sports (having already played them is even better) as well as a taste for teamwork will make you a candidate to become a good player.
TELL US WHAT IS
YOUR NEXT SPORTS CHALLENGE?
Clearly, trying to get at least one selection in the French team represents one of the major challenges of my playing adventure to date. In addition, I would like to join the world top 200 this year (currently 260).
TELL US MORE ABOUT NÜTTREE ENERGY BALLS!
How did you find out about Nüttree?
I managed to surround myself with a great team in Bordeaux.
I joined the Ultimate Physical structure, whose founder (and physical trainer) Gaël le Gledic is totally dedicated to me.
I am also being monitored for my recovery and diet. I was thus directed to Nüttree by these professionals. A huge thank you to them for the discovery 🫶
How do you consume Nüttree energy balls?
I found a real benefit to consuming energy balls during my workouts.
Sometimes I even eat it just before starting my training or my match if I don't feel 100% before starting.
I particularly appreciated the gain in my energy in the present moment, of course, but it is over time that Nüttree stands out in my opinion.
All the ingredients are carefully chosen and nothing is left to chance and I am very impressed by the duration of the boost effect.
I don't need to consume a lot of it to feel good. In particular, there is no spike in blood sugar associated with a big drop like you find in many products claiming to be "energizing".
In our case it is strong, constant and durable. I recommend it blindly.
Do you have a crush?
In all transparency, there aren't any that I don't like.
However, I wouldn't be lying if I said that I have already eaten "choco | noisette" out of pure greed... 😂
